In the effort to promote the use of bamboo and sustainable forest resources, 17/03/2024 the World Bamboo Organization (INBAR) conducted a visit to Quan Son, Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, with the participation of the district leadership of Quan Son and the Non-Wood Forest Products Research Center and ECOBAMBOO Joint Stock. This event created an important opportunity to promote multilateral cooperation and share experiences in developing sustainable forest resources for environmental and community benefits.

Collaborative Efforts:

INBAR has made efforts to collaborate with local partners to explore ways to utilize bamboo and other forest resources sustainably and beneficially for the environment and communities. Quan Son, with its bamboo potential, has become a key destination in this development strategy.

The Visit and Direct Engagement:

INBAR’s visit provided an opportunity for local managers and researchers to directly engage with bamboo-related projects and activities in Quan Son. They had the chance to visit bamboo gardens, processing plants, and research centers, gaining a better understanding of the potential and challenges associated with bamboo.

Sharing Experiences and Learning:

Through workshops and working sessions, INBAR along with the district leadership and the Research Center shared experiences and knowledge in managing and utilizing bamboo sustainably. They also discussed opportunities and challenges in expanding and developing bamboo projects in Quan Son.

INBAR’s visit to Quan Son, Thanh Hoa, is a significant step in creating a multilateral cooperation model for bamboo and sustainable forest resource development. This event not only demonstrates INBAR’s commitment to supporting localities in promoting sustainable development but also opens up a new opportunity for cooperation and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
